Overwhelmed by Grace
You remember those posters so popular about 15-20 years ago (quick google search tells me called ‘stereograms’) – where you could stare at them and images would pop out? Always suspected they were put out by companies who manufacture eye-drops cause they sure put the vapor lock on my eyeballs! Well check out this image. No hidden pop out – but I am curious what your perspective is on the image.
“I see a star; You see the Milky Way..I see one man counting sand..But You see generations”
Lyrics from one of favorite songs ever and they capture my point. It is about Story. The problem is one of those days when gut-wrenching news, maybe even crises, enter like an unseen knife stabbing at our soul. How do we maintain or re-aquire God’s perspective?
Crises tend to remind us that we are fundamentally not in control. Victories tend to romance us that we are fundamentally in control.
Like this image taken in space – life can overwhelm us. Been there big time. But you my friend are of a great and noble stock. You are formidable; there really are people in your Story that care deeply for you; and you have a grand role to play in a really big Story.
Let God overwhelm you with Grace, with Love, with Peace. I think the end of the Story is supposed to be this: “We are to be ‘Grace Messengers”. (Pastor Jimmy Evans – Trinity Fellowship Amarillo TX)
“In reality, we are dependent on grace, and a host of other people and circumstances beyond our control”. (Dan Allender)
Hang in there. CLH – and here is the chorus to that favorite song I mentioned earlier:
Who, but You, would ever choose
To dream Your dream in me?
Tell me who, but You, would dare me to
Believe what I can’t see
Who, but You?
By the way – this image is actually a ‘Coronal mass ejection’ I found on foxnews.com – but I like God’s perspective better!
